We’re all busier than ever before nowadays! It’s been crazy.

After speedilly trying to put posters up everywhere in Aberystwyth,we set out for our first Bandstand gig of the year; 19th July:

It went alright, but none of us where particularly happy with how things went, we had a good turnout thought. Kieron was busy so we made do performing with just Izzy. It wasn’t our best performance but it was great to get back doing hard, competetive (trying to ‘get’ an audience) 2 hour gigs.

For the next 4 days we practiced and recorded the coming album (still nameless), it was hard work in the sweltering Aber heat but we worked our way through and we’re all very happy with the result. Listen to some unmastered tracks here.

Our next gig; 26th July was much more successful. As a result of the recording we were well rehearsed and very tight. This played largely to our benifit as we mongeres crowds of up to 40 people, including Bananaman with a Ukilele who danced on stage with us. We sold six ieuan dennis Cd’s and we were all happy. We had a few jams with Kieron which went well and our four track set with him proved very popular.

Unfortunately we have found out (a day before the gig) that we’ve been dropped from square fest but we’ve got a do in The Scholars for 2 hours on August 2nd (straight after a 2 hour bandstand gig) which’ll be hard but a lot of fun.

Well we actually have been really busy recently…

On monday we did our recording with the rock course which went brilliantly (some real badass tracks) which will be for sale on our next Album. Tom went crazy on coffee, Kieron turned perfectionist and we were all uber-happy!

We did some more recording on wednesday with Mark Dryden ‘for our GCSE’s’ but not really, it was to miss school and put our creativity into naughts and ones. That went good with tracks like Oxymoron and The Beast ready for Mr. D to mix.

Also we’ve been organizing our when to record the rest of our next album and managed to find time (which took ages) in the summer hols. It’ll be a tiny bit homemade (as we’re using Amane’s equipment) but NO QUALITY WILL BE SACRIFICED! Hopefully it’ll be out by Autumn – incredibly loose estimate.

We’ve been hard at work since our last post, here’s what we did.

We went on a course in Pontrhydyfentigaid  on Thursday the 3rd of July with Kieron Craine (guitarist) and wrote about two and a half songs. They’re all great numbers and we practiced Embers From Ashes with guitar to make up four songs. They’ll be recorded on monday coming (7th July) and available for purchase (if we organize oursleves).

On top of that, we played in Arad Goch’s new building opening, with Stone Free on Friday. Our set went down quite well and we managed to survive playing our new songs (created only the day before), although we were attacked once more by hot lights, out of tune guitar and miscellanious other problems (excuses excuses!). Also we were filmed by an S4C crew and will apparently on TV, a program called ‘Mosgito’ at 6 o clock on either the fifteenth or seventeenth of this month – so watch out!

Well we hope our recording on monday goes well and you haven’t through dates obesity. See ya guys.

Triattica are up and kicking this summer, recording our first full-sized album, playing a shed load around the place and to busy to post a slug!

2 weeks later and we’re back! All went well really not much to say. A fuck-up here and there but a great reaction from a great crowd. We also managed to film it. Check the videos here.

We played cards, drunk ‘orange juice’ and listened. Also we got to listen to a band-friend (Ryan) play for the first time which was great.

Soon it was up to us to play our 30 minute set, and Triattica were on first. As we built up into our first song with a short jam Twm’s strting snapped and destroyed our highly anticipated climax. As he went to mess around with them Amane and Tom were forced to jam quietly in the background, waiting. Once Twm was back we rocked the Living Room like it had never been rocked before. Then Izzy and Kieron joined and things only got better. Izzy who sings at the Living Room frequently was highly anticipated by the audience and we were all brilliant.

We got to many compliments to cope with and an offer for another gig so all was good. A brilliant lift off for the Triat-Kizzy ?? combo.

In fact the Triattica company is very limited as there ore only three of us + miscellaneous ‘helpers’.

We apologize for the lateness of the Cd. We have had to battle hard against the evil forces of busyness, forgetting things, hernia and exams so it hasn’t been easy for us.

Anyway it’ll be out very soon – enjoy.

Recently we have got together two other people for collaboration with. These being the highly skilled Izzy Rabey on vocals and Kieron Crane on guitar. We have come up with a few song after about 3 practises and have plenty of half-complete songs. We played with these two in our Orangery Gig last night.

We had a brief practice before the gig to sort ourselves out and subsequently went to the Orangery to set up.

Another perfforming band and soloist: Inca and Izzy were playing before us so they completed their (brilliant) sets. Once they were finished  we were on and began kinda weakly. Hidemi made a speech and after that we gathered our strengths and reclaimed the gig. By the end of the gig (11:30 – 12:00) everyone who could play any note on an instrument joined in one huge jam and amazed each other and party-guests. It was a great night and a we all had a great time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HIDEMI!!

This musical escapade I call ‘Triattica’, started about this time last year (2006). And I think about what has happened to us as a collective and to us as individuals, how we have developed as musicians and friends. How much tighter we have become as a band and as a group of friends. I think about the two E.P’s we have produced, how lucky we are to have had Max Trax to record an E.P (Triattica E.P) the afternoon before our very first gig, which was in the same house as the recording!! Also, I think of the time Tom and me (Twm) had to go to Cnwch Coch of all places, from London (we were watching the Tour De France) and arrived an hour late, with Amane playing with a random other band!!

The list goes on and on, and on and on. But the thing is, I keep have to pinch myself to think that it has only been approximately 365 days.

Lastly, I just want to thank all the people who have helped us become who we are now. Firstly, the man’s birthday which set this ball rolling and his crazy, flute teaching girlfriend, Hidemi Suganami (Amane’s dad) and Ann Morgan Jones. Without you guys we wouldn’t have a clue what to do (or eat!). Also, Richard Wells (Tom’s dad). Who has escorted us far and wide to get to our destination, if a little late (ahem Cnwch Coch)!! There are many, many, many others but this blog is too long already!

Hope you have a merry christmas and a very happy new year, I wonder what the future will hold for the Uberfunkers?

Great one guys, Twms really summed up all I have to say, once a again thanks to every one who’s ever helped, whether you’ve taught us, couriered us or just been at one gig. Also a great thanks from me to Twm and Amane for working hard all year and generally being great people.
